Minnesota State Grant
Minnesota State Grants are awarded to students based on financial need, as determined by the FAFSA. Students must have a completed FAFSA on file for the current aid year in order to be considered for this grant.
Minnesota State Grants are awarded to Minnesota residents who:
- are undergraduates
- have not received their first undergraduate degree
- have not attended post-secondary institutions for more than the equivalent of four years at full-time status
- are not delinquent in paying child support
- are not in default on a SELF loan
Students must be enrolled for 15 credits per semester to receive the full amount of the Minnesota State Grant. Grant amounts are adjusted and prorated, when possible, based on the student's actual enrollment at the end of the second week of the semester.
The following application deadlines and restrictions apply to the Minnesota State Grant:
- The student must have his or her FAFSA
received by the federal processor by these dates to be considered
for funding:
Fall Semester 2007–October 3, 2007
Spring Semester 2008–February 13, 2008
- Eligible students will be considered for Minnesota State Grant
funding up to the equivalent of four years of full-time enrollment.
A uniform tuition and fee amount for all students is used to calculate
Minnesota State Grant amounts.
Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress to be eligible for the Minnesota State Grant.
