Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
Students who are receiving the federal Pell Grant will be evaluated for an Academic Competitiveness Grant award of up to $750 for the first academic year of study and up to $1,300 for the second academic year of study from this new, federally funded gift program.
In addition to being a Federal Pell Grant recipient, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- be a U.S. citizen
- be enrolled full-time in a degree program
- have successfully completed a rigorous secondary school program of study, as designated by the State of Minnesota
- have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive an award for a second year of study
Students must have a FAFSA on file for the current academic year to be eligible for this grant program. Students must also be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress.
This grant is not prorated for students taking less than 12 credits. If your enrollment drops below 12 credits by the end of the second week of the term, you will not receive any funds from this program.
Annual award amounts may be reduced by the U.S. Department of Education if sufficent funds are not available for all eligible students in an award year.
