Bulldog Welcome Week Schedule

New students will receive their final Bulldog Welcome Week Schedule when you check in! This personalized schedule will include all of the Rock Group and Workshop information.

Welcome to UMD and the Bulldog Welcome Week! This extended weekend will be full of all sorts of great activities that will help you meet lots of people, get to know the campus and the myriad of resources available to you, ways to get involved in campus life, and a get off to a great start on your academics!

A couple of notes that will help you read and understand the schedule below:

  • Rock Groups consist of approximately 15-18 new freshman students lead by a current UMD student leader. In these groups you will meet lots of other students, share meals, get to know the campus and be given the opportunity to have many of your questions or concerns addressed.
  • Bolded activities and times have REQUIRED ATTENDANCE for all students.
  • Workshops are one-hour classes that will teach students about UMD, the surrounding community, and subjects pertaining to their individual interests. Students registered for workshops of their choice in early August.

Hot dogs on Griggs Beach for UMD students and their families. This meal is low-waste, thanks to UMD catering and UMD office of sustainability. Sustainability=UMD+YOU

If your family is still on campus, please plan to say goodbye to them prior to Rock Group Meetings to ensure you have time for a proper goodbye. New students will be busy for the remainder of the day.

See the Duluth Rocks! poster around the campus for all the details you need to choose a great activity (or two!). Activities include:
