What is Welcome Week & Bulldog Bash?

During Welcome Week & Bulldog Bash you will get an orientation to UMD's academic expectations, make new friends and get connected to UMD. We hope you will become really excited about all the educational opportunities and possibilities that will unfold as you engage in your journey and learning at UMD.

Move-in and welcome activities will begin on Thursday, August 28. New freshmen students are required to attend the Welcome Week events from August 28-September 1.

Throughout the long weekend, you will be doing a number of great activities and participating in events to help you get to know people and find your way around UMD and Duluth. You will meet many students and staff and get familiar with the services and resources that will help you to make your time at UMD successful!

We strongly encourage you to throw yourself into the Bulldog Bash and get connected. It will help you to have a great start to your UMD career!

Volunteer Opportunities
Students have such a positive and enjoyable experience while attending Bulldog Bash, many volunteer to help out with the event in future years. If you are a current UMD student and are interested in volunteering for Bulldog Bash 2008, contact the First Year Experience Office about participating as a volunteer. Student volunteers are needed to assist the Bulldog Bash event coordinators, to serve as group facilitators, to answer students' questions, and to act as peer role models. Student volunteers receive a special Bulldog Bash t-shirt which enables them to be easily identified as a volunteer.

If you are interested in becoming a student volunteer, please contact Megan Perry-Spears (mpspears@d.umn.edu), FYE Program Coordinator; 60 Solon Campus Center; 218-726-8524.
