What is Advisement & Registration?Advisement & Registration is intended to give new students an introduction to academic life at UMD and a sense of the commitment required to pursue a bachelor's degree. During Advisement & Registration, you will meet other new students; attend a college meeting on degree, major, and course requirements; meet with an adviser to discuss your interests in pursuing a bachelor's degree; and select your first semester classes. A special note about confirming your Advisement & Registration date: Please note that you have a finite amount of time to respond to your invitation to Advisement & Registration. Confirm now to hold your spot in the fall 2009 class. Since overall confirmations are reviewed on a weekly basis, UMD may choose to limit new confirmations at any time. If you are confirming after the deadline, you will be directed to contact the UMD Admissions Office to inquire about your status for Spring 2010. All new undergraduate students are required to pay a $40 orientation fee (sometimes called the Advisement & Registration fee or the confirmation fee). The fee is non-refundable. For more information on the fee, please click on the Costs for Advisement & Registration link below.
