First Year Experience & Students in Transition

Advisement & Registration program is intended to give new students an introduction to academic life at UMD and a sense of the commitment required to pursue a bachelor's degree. During Advisement & Registration, you will meet other new students; attend a college meeting on degree, major, and course requirements; meet with an adviser to discuss your interests in pursuing a bachelor's degree; and select your first semester classes.

Confirm now to hold your spot at UMD for Fall 2012.

Please note that you have a finite amount of time to respond to your invitation to Advisement & Registration. Secure your spot for Fall 2012 by confirming an Advisement & Registration date as soon as possible after receiving your invitation. if you were admitted to UMD prior to April 9, your reply MUST be received by May 1, 2012 to hold your place at UMD for Fall 2012. If you reply after this date, you must call 1-800-232-1339 to find out whether your place for fall term is still available. If you were admitted to UMD after April 9, you must reply to your Advisement & Registration invitation within 4 weeks of admission to hold your place at UMD for fall 2012. Space availability is subject to change without notice.

Cost for Advisement & Registration
All new students at UMD are required by the University to pay the Advisement & Registration fee.
Schedule of the Advisement & Registration Day
Students and parents have information and activities that run from 10:45am-4:30 pm.
Mathematics Placement
UMD will place students in mathematics courses based on ACT/SAT scores, or by transferred college credit.
On-Campus Housing (Residence Halls, Suites & Apartments)
Instructions to access the application/contract for housing for the 2011-2012 academic year will be mailed as part of the confirmation packet after you reserve an Advisement & Registration date.
