Reservations for Advisement & Registration

Invitations to Advisement & Registration are sent to admitted students beginning in mid October for students beginning at UMD in Spring 2010. After that time, invitations are mailed the week after students are admitted to UMD. For students seeking to start in the Fall term 2010, invitations to Advisement & Registration will begin to be sent out in early January.

Please note that you have a finite amount of time to respond to your invitation to Advisement & Registration. If you were admitted to UMD prior to November 23rd, 2009, the deadline to confirm your Advisement & Registration date is December 7th, 2009. If you were admitted after November 23rd, you must confirm your Advisement & Registration date within four weeks of your admission to UMD. If it is after the deadline, you must contact the Office of Admissions at 218-726-7171 ( or 1-800-232-1339) to inquire whether you may still confirm a space in the Spring 2010 class.

To reserve an Advisement & Registration date, either reserve your date online or return the Advisement and Registration Reply form by mail, along with your Advisement & Registration fee.

If you reply by mail, you will need to indicate your first and second preference for dates on the reply form, recognizing that each session has a limited capacity. The earlier sessions allow you to choose from a wider selection of classes than the later dates.

Whether you reply online or by mail, you will receive a confirmation packet once both the reply and the fee are received. The confirmation packet will indicate the session at which you have a reservation and will also provide information to help you prepare for your Advisement & Registration session. Please read this information carefully and complete the items on the checklist enclosed with your packet.

If you are requesting an Advisement& Registration date on the same day as a friend, you should return your reply forms together in the same envelope. Be sure to select dates on which both students' college units meet.
