Each year we work with more than 275 student leaders, who are a vital part of our programs and services. All leadership positions in FYE & SIT require a 2.5 minimum GPA. The Opportunity: These positions are filled by students who can provide leadership and leadership and planning all summer to prepare for Bulldog Welcome Week. Some of the duties include managing the website, communicating with new students, communicating with Rockstar staff, scheduling Rockstar staff, soliciting donations and communication with wider Duluth community, and more! This is a position that requires tremendous ability to work independently, while at the same time working closely with a team of student coordinators and staff coordinators to make Welcome Week & Bulldog Bash as successful welcome and orientation of 2200 new UMD students. This a paid position involving approximately 20 hours/week in the summer and full time at the end of August and during the Bulldog Welcome Week.
Who is Eligible: We will be looking for students who have attended UMD for at least one year and have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Students who have prior experience with the First Year Experience office are preferred but not required. Students considering a career in student affairs are strongly encouraged to apply.
