STUDENT LEADERSHIP IN FYE & SIT:
First Year Experience & Students in Transition is one of the biggest providers of student leadership opportunities at UMD. Each year we work with more than 275 student leaders, who are a vital part of our programs and services. All leadership positions in FYE & SIT require a 2.5 minimum GPA. Applications and interviews are required for all positions; leadership positions are competitive.
Fall Semester Intern (Not always Offered)

The Opportunity: This internship is for students who are seriously considering a career in the field of Student Affairs. The duties can include working on the new student newsletter, the Spectrum, responding to email inquiries, providing student walk-in support, and engaging in research projects for the department. The purpose of these duties will be to introduce the intern to the wide array of issues, themes, and challenges currently in the field of new student support services and student affairs.
Who is Eligible: We will be looking for students who have attended UMD for at least one year and have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.
