Tongxin Zhu is an Associate Professor in Geography. His research interest focus on the interactions between overland flows and subsurfaces flows at watershed scales, particularly
in semi-arid environments, through field investigations and simulation modelling. His current research includes simulating overland and subsurfaces flows using the Topog model, quantifying the geomorphic and hydrological roles of
tunnel flows in drainage development, and investigating soil crusting process and its impact on soil moisture and runoff generations in the Loess Plateau of China. Tongxin teaches courses in Physical geography, hydrology, environmental
conservations, and environmental applications of geographic information sciences (GIS).
