Permits for patient parking in front of Health Services are available at the front desk. Cars without a permit will be issued a $31 ticket.

You can save time at the clinic by downloading forms and bringing them already completed to your appointment.

UMD currently has a limited supply
of H1N1 nasal FluMist vaccine.

People with possible flu symptoms can call the Minnesota FluLine (MN FluLine) at 1-866-259-4655 for information and treatment options. Professionals will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. People with limited English skills will be connected with an interpreter. There is no charge for the call.
Callers with flu symptoms will be connected with a participating nurse at MN FluLine, or a nurse at a triage line operated by their own provider network or health plan. The nurses will evaluate the health concerns of callers and discuss treatment options, using consistent criteria to determine which treatment option is most appropriate for each individual.

*UMD Parents and Students* Please read the following excerpt from the UMD Emergency Preparedness Website regarding the H1N1 flu at UMD. For additional information, please visit: http://www.d.umn.edu/emergency/

UMD recommends that all students be prepared for H1N1 by bringing to school:

  • A thermometer
  • Several boxes of tissue
  • Several bottles of hand sanitizer
  • Ibuprofen or Tylenol
  • Disinfectant spray or wipes such as Lysol

As we continue to monitor the H1N1 novel virus activity, we recommend that appointments be scheduled as usual by calling 218-726-8155.

If you have a fever over 100 degrees in addition to one of the following: cough, sore throat, or body aches, call 218-726-8155 and select option #6, and you will be transferred to Health Services Staff for further instructions.

Health Services requests that anyone with the above symptoms enter through the front door and use the designated waiting room. Please put on a mask and use the waterless hand wash while you are waiting to be seen by health provider.

To stay healthy we recommend:

  • If you are sick with a fever, sore throat, cough, or body aches, you should stay home to help limit the spread of the infection to others; you may want to call and talk to a nurse.
  • Use thorough hand washing techniques using soap and water or liquid hand sanitizing solution.
  • Avoid coming into contact with others who are ill.
  • Keep your hands away from your mouth and nose after you have touched surfaces that may be infected.
