The arrival of college students on campus each fall is an exciting time bringing new friendships, new experiences, and new responsibilities. The memories will last a lifetime.

For most students the memories will be positive. But for a number of students, their college career will be negatively impacted by the consequences of excessive drinking.

Response to this critical issue requires the collaborative efforts of all community members - students, administration, faculty and staff, parents, and the Duluth community at-large.

According to a college task force report by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), the consequences of excessive drinking by college students are more significant, more destructive, and more costly than many parents realize. And these consequences can affect students, whether or not they drink!
