If you suffer a serious accident, medical illness, or are in need of mental health support when Health Services is closed, contact or go to the emergency room/urgent care at either St. Luke's Hospital or Essentia - St. Mary's Medical Center, or to the Miller Dwan Mental Health Crisis Center. If an ambulance is needed, call 911. If the emergency is non-life-threatening and you do not have a means of transportation, call Campus Police at 218-726-7000.

Students can also text "life" to 61222 to recieve mental health support over the phone.
Students are advised to call the 1-800 phone number on their insurance card prior to going to a hospital or urgent care center. Services at these locations are not paid for by UMD Health Services.
