AdmissionsThe UMD Honors Program is looking for excellent students in all disciplines who want to participate actively in their education. It attempts to bring together students with a diversity of talents, interests, and experiences. Qualified incoming freshmen receive letters of invitation to apply to the program in March. We consider ACT scores, GPA, and class rank as well as extracurricular activities, community service work, and leadership experience. Students who receive letters of invitation are asked to apply to the program by no later than May 1. Current undergraduates or transfer students in high academic standing are also encouraged to apply for admission. We accept current and transferring students up through their sophomore year.
