New Student Housing Application Process

UMD Housing application-contracts will be available on-line for admitted students after they have confirmed attending an academic orientation session.

Students who return a housing application-contract postmarked on or before May 1, 2008, will be reserved and assigned a space in University housing based on the date of application for admission to UMD and the availability of space.

Employment

Full and part time positions available

(Some restrictions may apply on the part time positions)

Custodial - Supervised by Jim Pohl

Cleaning apartments and residence hall rooms, setting rooms with towels and linens, tile and carpet cleaning, etc.

Building Maintenance - Supervised by Ben Thompson

Doing repairs on furniture, replacement of parts that are damaged, replace sliding windows, spray lube door hinges, etc.

S. W. A. T. - Supervised by Jay Halling

Moving furniture, replacing mattress', cleaning out storage rooms and the grounds outside, inventory items, landfill runs, etc.

Typical work shifts are Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

There will be some overtime
Some weekends as needed or assigned, 9:00am to 5:30pm.
Shifts may vary as needed.

Jobs start May 17 and end September 1, 2008. There will be some part time positions available for the academic year.

Between 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday - Friday
12:00 noon to 5:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays

These positions are ones for which candidates who receive a conditional job offer are required to have a completed background check.
