New Student Housing Application Process

UMD Housing application-contracts will be available on-line for admitted students after they have confirmed attending an academic orientation session.

Students who return a housing application-contract postmarked on or before May 1, 2008, will be reserved and assigned a space in University housing based on the date of application for admission to UMD and the availability of space.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grandma's Marathon Housing at UMD

The University of Minnesota Duluth is pleased to rent residence hall rooms and suites for Grandma's Marathon. Two options are available:

The rate for a Residence Hall room is $176.28 for two nights (tax is included). Each room has two single beds, sheets, blankets, pillows and cases, towels, wash clothes, soap, drinking glasses, and a small refrigerator. Restroom facilities are communal-style shared baths.

The rate for a Suite is $384.20 for two nights (tax is included). Each suite has two bedrooms with two single beds in each (four single beds total - with sheets, blankets, pillows and cases, towels, wash clothes, soap, and drinking glasses), a bathroom, a furnished living room, and a refrigerator.

Each room and suite is also furnished with a telephone and local service. Long distance calls can be made with your long distance calling card. Your room phone can be programmed to provide a wake up call. Laundry facilities and parking in residence lots are provided at no charge. Please consider bringing a small fan as rooms are not air-conditioned.

Availability is on a first come, first serve basis with a two night minimum rental required. Payment is accepted only by MasterCard, VISA, or Discover credit cards. The full charge for your stay will be put on your credit card. Both the request form and the signed short-term housing agreement must to be returned before the request is approved. You will receive a confirmation letter with additional information and a copy of the charge when your request and payment are processed. The deadline for receipt of requests, leases, and cancellations is Friday, June 6, 2008. Specific housing assignment(s) will not be available until check-in.

Smoking is prohibited on all UMD property. The smoking ban includes indoor facilities and the campus grounds. Pets are not allowed in the housing facilities.
