New Student Application ProcessFALL 2013Application-contracts for university housing will be available on-line to admitted students beginning on February 1, 2013. Use the link at the bottom of this page to access the application-contract. Students who wish to live in University housing facilities and participate in the educational communities within University housing are encouraged to print, complete, and return the University Housing Application-Contract with the $200 installment payment by May 1, 2013. Please note that $50 of the $200 installment payment is not refundable. Students who return a housing application-contract postmarked on or before May 1, 2013, will be reserved and assigned a space in University housing based on the date of application for admission to UMD and the availability of space. Students who return a housing application-contract with a postmark after May 1, 2013, will be reserved a space based on the date the application-contract is received by the Housing Office and the availability of space. The University cannot guarantee the availability of University housing or University sponsored housing for students who submit an application-contract after May 1, 2013. Some first year students may be assigned to on-campus apartments or temporary rooms. Please be aware that the housing contract is binding for the entire academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) or while enrolled at UMD during the 2013-2014 academic year. Submission of a written contract cancellation prior to check-in will result in forfeiture of the installment payment as follows: on or before May 1- $50 forfeited - $150 refunded May 2 through May 31 - $125 forfeited - $75 refunded on or after June 1 - $200 forfeited - $0 refunded
