[ Back To Top ] Room Draw Considerations for Apartment ResidentsCurrent Assignment Renewal To qualify for current assignment renewal, a student must have been a resident in the specific apartment on or before February 1, 2012. Those residents who have moved into an apartment after February 1, 2012 are not eligible for Current Assignment Renewal, but are eligible for Unit Switch. If there are two residents who live in the same apartment at the time of room draw and both want to remain in the apartment , but do not wish to live together in their current assignment, renewal will be awarded to the resident (and his/her group) who has lived in the apartment for the greatest length of time. If the length of time is equal for both, the decision will be made by a flip of a coin. The resident (and his/her group) who loses current assignment renewal priority then participates in Unit Switch. If no apartments are available within the same facility during Unit Switch (numbers 1 - 150 within the same facility), then the resident’s group may choose an apartment in another facility at this time and go on the waiting list for their current facility. The resident does not need to redraw a number from the 151 - 300 pool for apartment to apartment (different apartment complexes). [ Back To Top ]
