About the Program
The Athletic Training Education Program at UMD consists of a six semester didactic and clinical education program and is a stand-alone major housed in the department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation.
Students will enter and progress through the program as a cohort. A maximum of 16 students per year are accepted into the program. All applicants must have met the entrance requirements and be accepted/enrolled at UMD prior to admission into the program.
While progressing through their educational experience, students will have the opportunity to gain invaluable clinical experiences at one of our affiliated sites within the greater Duluth area. These sites include area high schools, industrial athletic training settings, general medical offices, and NCAA division I, II, and III intercollegiate athletic teams at the University of Minnesota Duluth, College of St. Scholastica, and the University of Wisconsin - Superior.
