 INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION OFFICE

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel your participation, you must use one of the methods below:

  • Log into your Education Abroad account online and click the "Cancel Application" button on the bottom of the checklist page.
  • Email ieo@d.umn.edu with an email including the subject line “Program participation cancellation”.  In the body of the email, indicate your name, ID number, program name and term.

OR

  • Email your program advisor in the International Education Office with your intent to cancel your participation in the program.

You are responsible for all program fees until cancellation notification is received by the International Education Office.

The application fee and confirmation deposit for all UMD programs are non-refundable, as are the processing fees for non-UMD programs.

For students on non-UMD programs, it is your responsibility to notify your program sponsor of your cancellation from the program.

Financial Obligation

The International Education Office reserves space on the program for you upon your official confirmation. At that point, the International Education Office incurs certain non-recoverable costs. Therefore, a participant who cancels any time after the confirmation deposit has been received will be responsible for the deposit and any non-recoverable costs.
