Complete, print, sign and mail the form directly to IEO.

Housing

Students must indicate on their UMD Exchange Student Application if they will stay on campus or off campus housing.

OFF-CAMPUS
Applicants selecting off campus will need to find housing on their own and notify IEO, prior to arrival into Duluth, of their local address.

ON-CAMPUS
Nominated students can apply for housing via the UMD Housing Office application [PDF]. Completed applications must be sent to the UMD International Education Office.

Exchange students should indicated that they are a transfer student on the application.

Stadium Apartments have been the preferred apartments on-campus for international students. It is the only apartment complex on campus available for students to check into during arrival week,  the only apartment building that stays open during winter break (for year-long students), and the only housing complex that offers the opportunity for an individual room.

Be aware of the check-in (arrival dates) and check-out dates for on-campus housing when making your travel plans to Duluth.

Congratulations on being accepted to study at UMD!

In order to best serve you, please read through the following information, complete and submit the three forms requested before the deadline.

Arrival Details [PDF]

Students should complete the Arrival Details form to indicate when they will be arriving to campus. If you wish to have IEO to arrange pick-up from your Duluth arrival location (airport or one of the bus stops), make certain to indicated this on the form. All students must arrive prior to orientation, which held all day the Friday just prior to the first day of class.

AIRPORT: Duluth International Airport is serviced by Northwest Airlines. The airport is located only a few miles from the UMD campus. Health Care

In the United States, the government does not pay for health care. Health care in the United States is complicated and very expensive – one illness can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and financially devastate you and your family. Therefore, for your protection, the University of Minnesota mandates that all international students purchase the Student Health Benefit Plan insurance. For more information about the plan, please visit: http://www.shb.umn.edu/duluth/international-students/.

To ensure you have met all immunization requirements please read the letter from UMD Health Services and then complete the Immunization and Health History forms.
