UMD Programs in Germany

The University of Minnesota Duluth offers a short-term May session program to Germany. Germany has a strong historical and cultural influence in Europe as well as throughout much of the world. Over 100 million people speak the German language throughout the world. About 82 million people live in Germany, making it the second most populated country in Europe and most populated of the European Union member countries, and it is also the seventh largest European country by land area. As the third largest economy in the world and a member of many international organizations, Germany takes a leading and often progressive role today.

The UMD Study in Potsdam/Berlin, Germany program is a 3-week intensive program to study German history, culture, literature and politics with emphasis on language, culture and history. Students have the option of earning 4 or 6 credits from this program.

Students participating in the fall semester program will be part of the University Singers choral ensemble preparing concert programs of music for a choral tour in Germany (January 2-11, 2010). Students earn 1 credit of FORS 3511: Choral Ensemble in Germany.
