Thousands of exciting and educational study abroad opportunities are available to you. You can study abroad for the summer, for a semester or year, or take one of our many short-term programs offered in May term and during winter break. Please use the links here to explore your possibilities.

We encourage you to strongly consider the UMD-sponsored programs as we work hard at keeping the costs down and the quality up. This will become noticeable to you as you begin making comparisons. If the UMD programs are not for you, then we advise that you to explore University of Minnesota (UM) sponsored and co-sponsored programs. The University of Minnesota Morris (UMM), University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) and University of Minnesota Twin Cities (UMTC) offer quality programs throughout the world. If you don't find what you want through these programs, just click on world-wide opportunities to explore hundreds of other offerings.

Want other reasons to study abroad through a UMD or other UM program? Scholarship opportunities! The UM system offers many scholarship possibilities. Some scholarships apply to UM programs only. In addition, receiving equivalent approval for UMD courses is much more likely when studying through UM programs since the study abroad program has already been approved.
