Study the effects of European reforms in order to facilitate a better understanding of methods that may succeed in the United States, as discussions of reform continue. Examine healthcare provisions, access, costs, mandatory health insurance, quality, reforms, policy development and evaluation.
Learn about the organization of health care institutions and health insurance systems. Reforms across Europe address care organization using regional health agencies, which are responsible for ensuring that the needs of the population are met, coordinating care and serving as a bridge between traditional health care providers, public health and social care.Prepare to enter the health care market by studying the impact of reform on various health system stakeholders, including the patient perspective. Gain an understanding of health care delivery and reform by speaking directly to health care professionals and residents. Observe how hospitals, clinics and insurers are organized in order to serve patients as well as interact with one another.
Earn 3 credits in FST 4256, INTB 4495 Health Care Systems in the Netherlands and France, which is approved as Category B for Health Care Management majors and an international upper division course.

Participants MUST have a passport, valid for at least six months after their return to the United States.
A non-refundable application fee of $50 will be billed to your student account upon submission of an online application. A deposit of $400 will be billed to your student account upon your confirmation of participation. The remainder of the program fee will be billed through Student Accounts Receivable.
