UMD Programs in the USA

Though locations considered to be part of the USA may not be the first places one thinks of for study abroad, the diversity found throughout the country brings many opportunities for cultural programs. UMD offers a short term study in Hawaii during both winter break and May session every year for students to immerse themselves in the many Hawaiian cultures found on the islands.

UMD offers the Study in Hawaii opportunity twice annually, during winter break and during the May session. The two and one-half week trip includes visits to Oahu, the " Big Island," and possibly Kauai. The focus of the course is on intercultural and international relationships: Students are immersed in the many cultures of Hawaii by meeting many locals, learning from them, and living as they do.
