CHEPD - Cooperation in Higher Education & Professional Development

1+2+1 Program

  • Since 2001, AASCU and the China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) have been proud to offer the Sino-American 1+2+1 Dual Degree Program. This program gives Chinese undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to spend two years at an AASCU institution. Participants in the 1+2+1 program earn a dual degree from their Chinese home institution and their U.S. host institution.

  • The 1+2+1 Dual Degree Program is the largest program of its kind. Recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education as a Program of Excellence, it is one of most important platforms for cooperation between Chinese and American universities. Since its inception, over 135 AASCU and Chinese institutions have participated, and over 3,000 Chinese students have successfully completed the program.

  • Beginning in 2017, the University of Minnesota Duluth was invited to participate in the CHEPD Program and has developed institutional linkages with the following Chinese Universities.  Participating students are able to choose from the full complement of UMD majors offered across our five undergraduate colleges and schools as well as the over 20 graduate degrees offered through the UMD Graduate School.
