The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) is a comprehensive regional university. Undergraduate students can choose from 13 bachelor's degrees in 77 majors. In addition to the two-year program at the School of Medicine and a College of Pharmacy program, UMD offers graduate programs in 24 different fields, plus six cooperative programs offered through the Twin Cities.
UMD consistently ranks among the top Midwestern, regional universities in U.S. News and World Report's “America's Best Colleges” issue. Providing an alternative to both large research universities and small liberal arts colleges, UMD attracts students looking for a personalized learning experience on a medium-sized campus of a major university.
UMD's campus consists of more than 50 buildings on 244 acres overlooking Lake Superior. Concourses or hallways connect most buildings at the UMD main campus, providing easy access for students with disabilities and convenience for all students year round.
UMD has 11,491 students, with approximately 311 international students from 43 countries.
On behalf of UMD students, faculty and staff, the UMD International Student Services (ISS) Office would like to welcome you to Duluth!
Along with the great academic opportunities, UMD promises to expose you to a wide range of cultures and activities. From snow boarding to rock climbing and baseball to soccer, you will find yourself engaged and having fun. There are many things to do on campus and around Duluth's lush green landscape
