Linda Deneen - Director

Linda is the Director of the Information Technology Systems and Services Department at UMD. She has overall responsibility for the direction and delivery of computing, network, telecommunications, and classroom technology services for the campus.

Chuck Bosell - Manager, Infrastructure (Phone, Network, Classroom, Data Centers)

Chuck is the manager of UMD infrastructure for telecommunications (digital, analog, VoIP), network (wired and wireless) and classroom instructional technology. He also provides guidance for our student supervision team. Chuck provides cross-functional support for our data centers with Kevin Wu.

Sally Bradt - Manager, User Services (TechCenter, HelpDesk, WebDev) and Security

Sally is the manager of our user services, including help desk, computer maintenance/TechCenter, desktop assessments and security, and Active Directory and Windows server support. She manages web development services for both the ITSS web site and other departments on campus. She also manages security issues relating to PCI/HIPAA, and technology security incidents that are reported for the campus for students, faculty and staff.

Dan is currently working on special projects involving University accounts and programming. Dan shares cross-functional responsibility for system, network and security with Chuck Bosell, Kevin Wu and Sally Bradt.

Jason Davis - Manager, Academic Support and Finance

Jason is the manager of our classroom technology, student computing labs, interactive television (ITV) and audio-visual, and digital signage services. He manages our instructional technology services, including support for on-line learning. Jason is also responsible for ITSS human resource and finance issues.

Kevin Wu - Manager, Systems and Development

Kevin is the manager of our application and systems support areas, including application and data base development, programming, Enterprise application support, email and web services, VMWare services, file and printing services, and large data storage. He provides cross-functional support for our data centers with Chuck Bosell.

Gordee Bennett - Technology Support Professional

Gordee provides programming and administrative support for our database of student computing users, ensuring that students have access to the campus computing facilities and services for which they are authorized. She works with administrators and faculty to create and maintain e-mail aliases to facilitate communication between faculty and their students and among various other campus administrative groups.

Tim provides systems administrator support for our central Active Directory and Windows servers, data storage and backup, and network printing. He provides advanced consulting support for Windows users and other customer-owned computing systems and servers.

Laura Carlson - Web Development Professional

Laura supports faculty and others in their use of classroom technology by providing detailed classroom equipment operation documentation on our web pages. She leads several eClass online sessions, produces the web pages to help us promote and coordinate all ITSS workshops and training, and also manages the Web Design Reference site.

Wendy provides project management, programming and consulting support for Facilities Management, Continuing Education and other campus departments and staff who request application software support, desktop support, and data reporting from campus administrative systems and enterprise systems.

Trish Crace - Faculty and TechCenter Support Specialist

Trish provides data entry, test scoring, and quarterly student evaluation processing services for the UMD campus. Additionally, She also provides technology support at the ITSS TechCenter and HelpDesk.

Dan Ellis - Computer Maintenance Coordinator

Dan coordinates the installation, upgrade, and repair of desktop computers and printers for campus personnel and for our student and instructional computing labs. He also provides important advice regarding the planning and scheduling of major lab equipment upgrades in the student computing labs.

Lynn provides support to our Phone/Network Team in programming, scheduling, and billing for phone and network services. She also assists customers with the planning, installation, and training of their phone and network connections. Lynn provides voice systems administration support, including 911 database updates. She's also a system administrator for the campus TXT-U text alert system. Lynn also coordinates Gopher State One Call requests to protect our underground facilities.

Ken provides installation and troubleshooting support for our telephone and computer network infrastructures. Ken is a fiber optic technician and performs fusion splicing and testing. Ken designs, installs, and supports campus security cameras and related infrastructure. Ken also coordinates IT requirements for construction and remodeling projects.

Karl has primary responsibility for design, installation, and maintenance of all audio-visual facilities operated by our department. This includes the AV equipment checkout service, the interactive television facilities, and AV technology in general purpose classrooms. As a member of our Classroom Technology Team, Karl's ideas and efforts are vital to the successful implementation of classroom technology improvements.

Kathy Wilson - Principal Accounts Specialist

Kathy handles all of the paperwork associated with the purchasing of equipment and supplies for all areas within our department. As a member of the Accounting Team she is responsible for entering the monthly billing information for staff services provided to our customers. She prepares employment and payroll documents for our many student employees, and maintains our department directory.

Debbie Wing - Technology Support Professional

Debbie provides data base development, programming, and consulting support for a variety of administrative systems used by UMD administrative and academic departments. In addition, she is our primary support person for many of the Enterprise Systems used by the UM System. Such as PeopleSoft systems, Data Warehouse, Management Reporting, Lyris, and Document Imaging, and is an important resource for those people on campus who use these systems.
