BohH 90: Using the Wired Microphone.

1. Obtain the keys.

The BohH 90 equipment key may be requested by departments or by faculty teaching in BohH 90.

Classroom keys and building master keys do not open these locks. Departments with faculty or staff needing access to the AV /computer equipment may want to have a key in their department office available for checkout. Or faculty and staff who make frequent use of classroom equipment may want to request a key for their personal use. In either case, a key request card must be completed, signed by the Dean or Department Head, and delivered to Facilities Management Key Shop. "AV Cabinets" must be printed at the top of the card to specify that the requested key is for the equipment cabinet and not for the room itself. A separate key request card for the room must be completed to obtain a room key.

2. Unlock and open the equipment closet door.

The microphone and other AV equipment is located in the equipment closet at the front left side of the room as you face the class.

Use the BohH 90 equipment key to unlock the closet.

One lock is located by the door handle.

3. Plug in the microphone.

The microphone is located at the bottom section of the equipment closet. Take it out of the closet.

Plug it into one of the MIC receptacles at the front of the room, on the lower right or left side of the blackboard. Note the number on the receptacle.

The microphone plug should snap out of the receptacle.

Then place the other end on you in the position you prefer for your presentation.

4. Turn on the main power.

The main power button is located below VCR/DVD Player.

It is the window switch type.

Press this button.

5. Turn on and adjust the audio amplifier.

The audio amplifier is located in the equipment closet.

The audio amplifier is normally left on, and a small green light on the front of the amplifier indicates when it is on. If the green light is not on, press the power button on the amplifier.

The audio amplifier power button is the first button on right side of the unit.

Check the audio amplifier volume levels. If the volume for the Mic you are using is not correct adjust the corresponding Mic 1, Mic 2, Mic 3, or Mic 4 dial.

The wired microphone volume dials are the are the first four buttons on right side of the unit.

The dial on the amplifier labeled Master adjusts the overall volume level of all devices connected to the room audio system. Adjust it up or down as necessary, but be aware that this also adjusts the volume for any other devices that may be connected to the amplifier. It is best to adjust the volume using the Mic dial rather than Master. Set all level controls you will NOT be using to minimum.

6. When you are finished return the microphone to the equipment closet.

Unplug the microphone from the Mic receptacle at the front of the room.

The microphone plug should snap into the receptacle.

Return it to the the bottom section of the equipment closet.

7. Turn off the closet power.

Lower the power switch to the off position.

The main power button is located below VCR/DVD Player.

8. Close and lock the equipment closet door.

Close and lock the equipment closet door using the BohH 90 equipment key.

The lock is located on the right hand side of the door. Please double check to make sure this door is locked.
