Chem 200: Playing an Audio Tape.

1. Obtain the keys.

The Chem 200 equipment key may be requested by departments or by faculty teaching in Chem 200.

Classroom keys and building master keys do not open these locks. Departments with faculty or staff needing access to the AV /computer equipment may want to have a key in their department office available for checkout. Or faculty and staff who make frequent use of classroom equipment may want to request a key for their personal use. In either case, a key request card must be completed, signed by the Dean or Department Head, and delivered to Facilities Management Key Shop. "AV Cabinets" must be printed at the top of the card to specify that the requested key is for the equipment cabinet and not for the room itself. A separate key request card for the room must be completed to obtain a room key.

The AV equipment is located in the rightmost section of the instruction table as you face the class. Use the Chem 200 cabinet key to unlock the door to this section.

The volume control dial is the eight button from the left on the front of the amp.

The dial on the amplifier labeled Master adjusts the overall volume level of all devices connected to the room audio system, including the VCR and computers as well as the cassette. Adjust it up or down as necessary, but be aware that this also adjusts the volume for the other devices mentioned. It is best to adjust the volume using the cassette dial rather than Master.

The playback speed control can be changed by using the tape speed control dial. You can make the speed slower to playback a part difficult to catch and faster to playback an unimportant part. When TAPE SPEED is set to the center click position , the tape is played back at standard speed.
