DAdB 520: Playing a DVD.

1. Insert the DVD into the DVD player.

The DVD/ VCR combo unit is located in DAdB 520A, in the equipment rack.

It is on the third shelf from the top.

The unit has two sections.

The DVD controls are clustered on the right side and the VCR controls are clustered on the left side of unit.

It is normally left on but if it isn't, press the POWER button.

The power button is the left most button on the front of the player.

The unit will turn on and the power indicator will illuminate.

Insert the videotape into the VCR.

2. Lower the screen.

The controls for the screen and other A.V. equipment are on the control touch panel, which is located on the wall at the back of the room.

It is on the right side of the projector window.

The projection screen is raised and lowered by an electric motor.

To lower the screen, press the Screen button on the control panel.

The screen button is located in the upper right.

Press the Lower button.

The lower button is on the left.

Then press the Escape button.

The escape button is in the lower right corner.

3. Press the VHS/DVD button on the control panel.

Press the VHS/DVD button on the main menu.

It is the top button on the left side of the main menu.

You will be asked which device you want to control. Press the DVD button to give you access to the DVD controls.

4. Play your DVD.

In the DVD Player Controls window press the Play button.

It is the top button on the right side of the VHS Player Controls menu.

You can control the tape by pressing the Play, Pause, Stop, Search Reverse, Skip Back, Skip Ahead or Search Forward buttons in the DVD Player Controls window. Pressing the Escape button will take you back to the previous window.

If you would like to monitor the tape in real time from the control panel, press the Video Window button.

It is the top button on the left side of the VHS Player Controls menu.

The Video Window allows you to view the tape live and control it with the same Play, Pause, Stop, Search Reverse, Skip Back, Skip Ahead or Search Forward buttons.

Located at the bottom of the video window from left to right the buttons are: Search Reverse, Skip Back, Skip Ahead, and Search Forward.
	 Located at the right of the video window from top to bottom the buttons are: Play,  Pause, and Stop

Pressing the Escape button will take you back to the previous window.

5. Adjust the sound if needed.

The control panel has several buttons to control and adjust sound.

From the main menu you can mute the AV sound.

It is located on the bottom center of the main menu control panel.

Press the AV Mute button once to mute AV sound. Press it a second time to restore the AV sound.

To adjust the volume, first press the Volume button on the main menu.

It is located in the bottom left of the main menu control panel.

The Program Volume menu will appear.

The increase volumne button is directly above the decrease button. The Mute button is to their right.

Use the two buttons on the left side to increase or decrease the volume. Press the Mute button, on the left side once to mute the sound. Press it a second time to restore the sound.

6. Turn off the projector.

When you are finished, touch the System Off button on the control panel.

It is in the upper right corner.

You will be asked if you want to shut down.

The Yes button is on the left.

Select the Yes button to verify that you do indeed want to shut the system down. If you select the No button, you will be taken back to the main menu.

After you select Yes, the AV system will begin it's power down cycle. It will take the projector a couple of minutes to shut down.

The power down cycle can take up to two minutes.

7. Raise the projection screen.

Press the Screen button on the control panel's main menu.

It is located in the right lower corner, just to the right of the AV Mute button.

Then press the Raise button.

It is located on the right side of the control panel, below the system off button, and above the escape button.

8. Remove your DVD from the DVD player.

To remove your DVD, press the eject button on the The DVD/VCR combo unit in DAdB 520A.

The stop/eject button is the first button from the the left on the front of the player.
