Dial up (modem) Access

Configuring Apple OSX computers

Note: Apple does not include a built in phone modem. We recommend purchasing Apple's external modem.

  1. Click on the icon from the right side of the menubar and select "Open Network Preferences".

  2. From the Network System Preference pane that appears, enter the Telephone Number (728-7300), username, and password (same as your email).

  3. Close the Network Preferences pane.
  4. To start the the dial-in process, click on the icon and select "Connect Internal modem " (even though your modem may be external).

  5. You should hear the sound of dialing, then some "squealing", and then quiet as the modem finishes the connection.

  6. To disconnect, slect the "Disconnect" option from the icon.
