To provide a secure computing environment and ensure your data stays safe, you should change your Windows XP password in accordance to the following conditions.
(Note this is for your local workstation/computer only, and not for other passwords like email, novell, etc. These will have to be changed seperately)
To change your Windows XP password, do the following:
Click Start - Control Panel to open the Control Panel
Click User Accounts to open the following window
Click the user account whose password you wish to change
Select Change the password
In the following Window enter your new password. Enter the new password again in the confirmation field and type a hint if you would like help in remembering. When done, click Change Password.
The same should be done with the account named Administrator.
Now that your workstation account has been changed, it may be a good time to update any other system passwords you may have.
