All students, faculty and staff are eligible for a University Internet email account.
The University has moved to Gmail as it's primary email. The majority of students, facutly, and staff are now in the Google Apps suite. A few remaining units will be made eligible for opt in once a legally compliant HIPAA solution is in place for them.
For more information about Google Apps, please see: Google Apps for the University of Minnesota Duluth.
For detailed instructions on how to view your GMail and Google Calendar on your mobile device, please see: Mobile Computing.

- Select Set or Change Your Google Desktop/Mobile Client Password.
- Sign in with your Google credentials.
Sign in to your desktop client (such as Thunderbird) using your University Internet ID and your Google mobile password.NOTE: ITSS staff are providing free technical support for the Gmail web client only. If you have moved to Gmail and would like ITSS assistance in configuring a desktop client, please call the Help Desk and provide an EFS number for billing, and we will queue your request.
