Deleting messages with IMAP (Purge Deleted Messages)


Select the message that you would like to delete, then press the delete key. This only marks the item for deletion (it is displayed in strikethrough text) and these items still count towards your quota.

 

To permanently delete the items marked for deletion, click Edit ► Purge Deleted Messages


Adding an entry to the Address Book


Click Tools ► Address Book

 

Click File ► New Entry

 

Select New Contact
Click OK

 

Type in the Full Name, E-mail, and other items that you wish to include
Click Save and Close button

 

Verify that your new contact shows up in the Address Book
Close the Address Book


Setting up a signature


Click Tools ►Options

 

Click the Mail Format tab
Click the Signatures button

 

Click the New button

 

Type in a name for the new signature
Click Next

 

Type in the text that you would like included with your signature (see example below)
Click Finish

 

Click OK

 

Make sure your new signature is selected in Signature for new messages
You may also want to select your Signature for replies and forwards
Click OK

 

To test your signature, create a new message. Your signature should automatically be added to the bottom of it (See example below).


Frequently Asked Questions


My mailbox has been moved or I am missing IMAP folders. How do I find them in Microsoft Outlook?

  1. In Mail, in the Navigation Pane, click the Inbox for the IMAP account.
  2. On the Tools menu, click IMAP Folders.
  3. Uncheck When displaying hierarchy in Outlook, show only subscribed folders.
  4. Click Apply, click OK.
