Configuring your email

Configure email for off-campus
Configuring your email program if you use other ISPs
Mulberry comes preconfigured for use at UMD, either on-campus of off-campus through the UMD modem pool. However, if you use another ISP such as CPInternet or Charter and would like to use Mulberry, you will need to make some minor configuration changes to the program.
Configure secure email
Secure email
Beginning January, 2007, only email clients configured to use secure settings will be able to connect to the UMD email servers to send and receive mail. To avoid interruptions in connecting to our email system we recommend that you configure your email program to use secure connections well before the end of Fall semester, 2006.
Configure Eudora/Outlook/other email clients
Configuring email clients for use at UMD
The supported email clients - Mulberry, Pine and IMP - are preconfigured for use at UMD. However, if you prefer to use Eudora, Outlook, or others, you will need these guidelines to configure them properly.
Forward your email
UMD Email Forwarding
Use this tool to forward your UMD email to another account.

Caution: Your email account is the official means of communication between you and the University. Before you forward your UMD email to another account, be sure that you can easily receive it at your chosen address. For details on some problems with forwarding, see Mail Forwarding Caution.
