UMD Advanced Tech Camp
Purpose of Tech Camp:
- Expand on the experience from Tech Camp to strengthen skills and increase
knowledge.
- Improve course materials previously developed during or after Tech Camp.
- Improve teaching and learning by promoting faculty productivity and student
participation.
- Develop advanced skills and knowledge that will enable advanced tech campers
to be the technology leaders among their peers.
Expectations For Faculty Participants:
- Develop and implement a plan for the adaptation or enhancement of technology-rich
course materials.
- Attend all scheduled sessions (see Schedule),
8 hours preparation work, and a follow-up session (date to be determined).
- Deliver a product by September 1, 2001: a course that is enhanced with technology
and can serve as a showcase and model for others. This must expand upon original
work done prior to advanced tech camp.
- Share your results: attend a group showcase and demonstrate your product;
provide a one-page written report of your accomplishments; consider giving
an IDS workshop on your product; provide the URL of any web site you produce
for inclusion in our Tech Camp resource list.
- Continue to make effective use of your laptop in class presentation.
