- American Association for Higher Education
- The AAHE envisions a higher
education enterprise that helps all Americans achieve the deep, lifelong
learning they need to grow as individuals, participate in the democratic
process, and succeed in a global economy. AAHE is higher education's
"citizen's organization," where faculty, administrators, and students from
all sectors, plus policy makers and leaders from foundations, government,
accrediting agencies, and business can address collectively the challenges
higher education faces.

- "The world's premier professional association and leading resource on
workplace learning and performance issues".
- Association for Educational Communications
and Technology - The AECT's
mission is to provide leadership in educational communications and technology
by linking professionals holding a common interest in the use of educational
technology and its application to the learning process.
- Association for the Advancement of Computing
in Education - AACE's
membership includes researchers, developers, and practitioners in schools,
colleges, and universities; administrators, policy decision-makers, trainers,
adult educators, and other specialists in education, industry, and the government
with an interest in advancing knowledge and learning with information technology
in education.
- CASE (Council
for the Advancement and Support of Education) - the Council for Advancement
and Support of Education is the professional organization for advancement
professionals at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications,
and development.
- CUE (Computer-Using Educators) - Computer-Using
Educator's goal is to promote and develop instructional uses of technology
in all disciplines and at all educational levels from preschool through
college. They currently have a membership of over 11,000 educational professionals.
- DETC - The Distance
Education and Training Council (formerly the National Home Study Council)
is a non profit educational association located in Washington, D.C. DETC serves as a clearinghouse
of information about the distance study/correspondence field and sponsors
a nationally recognized accrediting agency called the Accrediting Commission
of the Distance Education and Training Council.
- EDUCAUSE - is an international,
nonprofit association whose mission is to help shape and enable transformational
change in higher education through the introduction, use, and management
of information resources and technologies in teaching, learning, scholarship,

- IEEE Computer
Society Learning Technology Task Force - LTTF has been founded on the premise
that emerging technology has the potential to dramatically improve learning.
The purpose of this task force is to contribute to the field of Learning
Technology and to serve the needs of professionals working in this field.
- International Society for Technology in
Education - ISTE is the largest
teacher-based, nonprofit organization in the field of educational technology.
Their mission is to help K-12 classroom teachers and administrators share
effective methods for enhancing student learning through the use of new
classroom technologies.
- Society for Applied Learning and Technology
- SALT is "oriented to
professionals whose work requires knowledge and communication in the field
of instructional technology."
- The TLT Group - The Teaching,
Learning, and Technology Group's goal is " to help educational institutions
improve the outcomes (and relieve some of the stress) of their educational
uses of technology. At the heart of our work are the AAHESGIT Listserv and
the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Roundtable (TLTR) Program."
- The United States Distance Learning Association
- is a non-profit association formed in 1987 by Patrick Portway, Dr. Smith
Holt of Oklahoma State University and Dr. Ralph Mills of California State
University. The association's purpose is to promote the development and
application of distance learning for education and training.
