Faculty, students, educators, and anyone interested in discussing educational
technology can subscribe to this Listserv for free and join this discussion
site. It is the largest electronic mailing list devoted to technology in
education.
- Edupage - A free e-mail service
from EDUCAUSE that summarizes the latest developments, extracted from the
mainstream media, in information technology.
- H- MMedia - is a moderated list
devoted to exploring applications of new media in the humanities. It will
inform readers of newer products and approaches, and offer a forum to discuss
the same. Disciplinary reach is broad (history, literature, art criticism
etc.) and addresses faculty, computer and media support staff, librarians,
editors and developers of new media, museum educators and curators, librarians,
archivists, publishing houses, historical or literary societies and archives.
The list is advised by an international board of scholars and media specialists.
- info.tech.News - A monthly digest
of technology news that pertains to UMD faculty, staff, and students.
The goal of this digest is to distribute information ITSS feels will be
useful to the daily routines of our campus community members in conjunction
with computer and telephone technologies.
- ITFORUM - Instructional Technology
Forum is "an electronic listserv where people from around the world discuss
theories, research, new paradigms, and practices in the field of Instructional
Technology. ITFORUM is sponsored by the Department
of Instructional Technology at The University of Georgia. The list is open
to anyone interested in instructional technology (a special invitation is
extended to graduate students in IT programs). ITFORUM is a little different from
most listservs in that specific discussions are conducted throughout the
year. From September to May, leaders in the field are invited to write a
short paper or essay that is posted on the list prior to discussion. This
guest discussant remains available electronically on the list for a period
of one week to discuss, debate, or answer questions from subscribers."
