I need a password (my password expired or I cannot remember it)
Passwords need to be changed once a year.
To change a password before it expires:
To change a password after it expires or if you cannot remember your password:
Your new password will take one hour to work on email. (Temporary passwords will not get you into email.)
For information on other UMD Passwords, see Your University Passwords.
I'm locked out of e-mail because there is too much stuff in my account
Students not using UMD Gmail have a disk storage limit of 500 megabytes, and alumni have a limit of 30. This includes email inbox, email folders and moved mailboxes, myweb, and myfiles. You will receive two warning notices when you have reached capacity. If accounts are not cleaned out, your email locks up. You then have to call the Help Desk at 218-726-8847 to be unlocked. It will take one hour to open the account, and it must be cleaned out and brought under the limit by that evening; otherwise, it will lock again.
I need help in a classroom or computer lab:
If you are having trouble with a projector, computer, or other piece of equipment, please call the TechCenter at 218-726-6222. We will dispatch assistance to you right away.
I need a transcript
Go to www.d.umn.edu/registrar/transcripts.html to select either official or unofficial transcript. You will need to log in with your internet id and password. If you do not know your internet id and/or password or if your password has expired, please contact the Help Desk at 218-726-8847. If you have been out of school more than five years, we will reactivate your student grade record and will need to gather a little more information from you.
