ITSS Systems and Support during the Winter Closure

Winter Closure

The UMD campus will be closed from Thursday, December 23, 2010 through Monday, January 3, 2011. The campus will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, January 4.

ITSS and University Systems - expected to function normally

ITSS central systems (such as email, wireless, telephone, Novell, Samba, and eGradebook) and University Enterprise systems (such as PeopleSoft and Moodle) are expected to function normally during the closure.

ITSS Support Services limited availability

The ITSS Help Desk, TechCenter, MulitMedia Hub, VDIL, and all student computing labs will officially be closed. Please note that this means:

Reporting Major Service Outages

ITSS staff will be monitoring systems twice daily throughout the closure. To report emergencies such as a major system outage, call the ITSS Help Desk at (218) 726-8847 (or x8847 on campus) and leave a message.

Working from Home

If you or your staff members are planning to work from home during the closure, now is the time to prepare. Information Technology Systems and Services (ITSS) invites University faculty and staff to learn how to more securely work from home by reviewing these policies and best practices on safe computing and data security.
