Technology news for UMD faculty, staff and students
- Nine
Weeks left for Remaining Users to Move into Google
Apps
- Given our positive experience so far, we expect all
remaining users will have transitioned into Google Apps by
the end of the fiscal year.
- Active
Directory Project Moving Forward
- In February we moved 200 workstations to Active
Directory. On average it takes approximately one hour per
computer to make the transition. Some computers requiring
software updates take longer.
-

- ITSS and College of Liberal Arts (CLA) will be sharing experiences
in change management and the concurrent rollout of Google Apps
and Active Directory at UMD in an upcoming EDUCAUSE
presentation.
- Guidelines
on Social Networking
- The Educational Policy Committee's Subcommittee on
Information Technology and Library has drafted
a policy on Guidelines on Social Networking.
