We're pleased to announce the recent hire of two End User Support staff to fill positions vacated as current staff moved on to new duties within ITSS.
Brittany Meyer (firstname.lastname@example.org) joined our staff October 26. Brittany is a 2014 UMD grad with a STEM degree in Civil Engineering, and she has been working in this field since graduation. Brittany also worked for ITSS for two years as a student employee in the TechCenter, working as a Lab Lead and providing excellent leadership and customer service. She will join us already familiar with many of our services and support tools.
Nancy Hanson (email@example.com) also joined our staff October 26. Nancy has many years of IT support experience, including 15 years with the Duluth ISD 709 as a computer field technician, as well as experience with the 148th Fighter Wing Air National Guard. Her extensive software and hardware support experience in an educational setting will be an excellent fit with ITSS and UMD.
Both Brittany and Nancy will be providing support at the Help Desk and TechCenter, as well as working directly with students, faculty and staff on end user support issues.
Becky Nelson, who has been providing support at the Help Desk and TechCenter, will be moving into a new role within ITSS effective November 9. Becky will be helping students navigate the many university issues with taking courses designated as hybrid and online. In addition, Becky will be working with the various programs and departments to identify and reduce issues for students, and will identify UMN issues to be addressed.
Matt Johnsted, who also formerly provided Help Desk and End User Support for ITSS, moved into a network support position within ITSS last spring.
