There have been a number of important changes to the staff of ITSS.
Updates to the Phone and Network Requests Site
We have updated the pages used to request installations or moves for phone and network connections. Users now have to only fill out a single page for these requests.
Virtual Private Network Server Available April 15
ITSS will make a new VPN server available to the campus. VPN lets you make a secure connection to a University computer from an off-campus, non-UMD connection (for example, cable or DSL modem).

SunRays, Browsers, and Registration
There have been some issues with how the different internet browsers work on the SunRay computers, so ITSS has made some progress with resolving these issues.
Network Upgrades
During the March Spring Break period ITSS staff converted access to central servers from shared 100 megabit access to shared gigabit access.

The goal of this digest is to distribute information that is useful to the daily routines of our campus community members in conjunction with computer and telephone technologies.
