Upcoming Events in the VDIL
April is National Math Awareness Month (MAM). Congratulations to VDIL researchers Doug Dunham, Joe Gallian and AJ Parsekar for designing the nationally-distributed MAM poster on mathematics and art, featuring the work of M.C. Escher.
Check out the VDIL booth at Techfest Friday April 4 from 9-4, where an interdisciplinary group of grads and undergrads (Viz Lab Studios) will be showing the processes of making 3D animation with original music using Maya, ProTools, and other hardware and software.
Deadline for Graduate Assistant applications at VDIL is also Friday April 4.
During the month of April, the VDIL will be showcasing 3D imagery from the UMD Department of Geology in the front windows at 154 MPAC, including 3D visualization of 4000 square miles of the planet Venus, the bottom of Lake Superior and stereo photography of Death Valley, the Mojave Desert and some 3D animations on the VRWall (also known as Agave or GeoWall).
