FALL 2000: BIG CHANGES IN STUDENT COMPUTING will appear when the session begins. Due to the completion of the new library there will be some noticeable differences in the format and content of the student computing labs. Here is a quick break down of those changes. STAFF ADDITIONS AND CHANGES FOR ITSS ITSS has experienced more than a few changes in our staff over the past few months. Here is a quick rundown of the new members and what responsibilities they will handle, in addition to changes for staff that have been here for some time. See --> New ITSS Staff

QWEST ACQUIRES USWEST / NEW CALLING CARDS On March 26, 2000 Network World magazine ran an article titled "Qwest Confirms Talks With 'Major' Telco." That major company was USWest and on July 1, 2000 the acquisition was complete. This merger also affects UMD so click the link below for information. See --> New Calling Cards

UMD GETS NEW 788 PREFIX For the past few years it has been apparent to ITSS that UMD would run out of phone numbers at some point during the summer of 2000. That time is upon us right now. Here is what ITSS has done to deal with the issue. See --> New 788 Prefix

ITSS GOALS FOR THE 2000-01 YEAR ITSS has outlined and detailed the goals set for the next fiscal year. The schedule is very ambitious yet obtainable. Priorities have been set for certain issues but it is our intent to complete each. The details of the plan are outlined on the following web page, please take a look.
