Server Software Updates
- During February, we will be installing
updated versions of a number of software packages that are available on the
Office and Mac servers.
Network and Desktop Support
- We have improved and updated our
UMDNet Desktop Computer Information on the web.

help us save money on electricity by shutting your computer down before you
leave work at the end of the day.
2003 Brings New Upgrade of PeopleSoft
- The current University HR and
Student Systems, better known as PeopleSoft V7.6, will be upgrading to version
- Twenty faculty members attended
the seventh UMD Tech Camp in January 2003.
- As with most networked services
these days, there are often several ways to accomplish the same thing. Email
is no exception.
Based Email Upgrade
- A new version of our web based
email system has been installed for testing, and we plan on converting to
the new system soon.
- The Classroom Team has been busy
again and completed updates or additions to a number of rooms over the semester
- There are regular requests for
updates on what is happening with the Visualization and Digital Imaging Lab.
Many folks new to the campus also ask what the lab is all about. So we thought
we'd cover both sorts of inquiries with this update.
info.tech.News is currently sent via
email to all users subscribed to the infotech.announce and umd.business.announce
email lists. The goal of this digest is to distribute information that is useful
to the daily routines of our campus community members in conjunction with computer
and telephone technologies.
