Distributed Network and Desktop Support

We have improved and updated the UMDNet Desktop Computer Information web site. Here you will find information on:

  • Standard UMDNet software for Windows and Mac
  • Security Tools
  • Desktop Installation Instructions
  • Tools
  • Troubleshooting Tips

In the Desktop Installation Instructions, we have clarified which work can be done by the end user or unit staff and which must be done by ITSS staff. A few items are reserved for ITSS staff only. These are the items that are most critical to network security, connections to ITSS servers, and network billing. ITSS will restructure network rates in order to provide these required items at no additional charge to the user. Because they are so critical, they will be built into monthly network connection costs.
