New ITSS Computer Assessment and Update Service
ITSS would like departments to take advantage of this new service which is designed to help a department or individual assess the current configuration and capability of their computers and update some of their software.
 
Classroom Technology Plans
This summer, ITSS will begin a major project to improve availability and quality of technology available for classroom use.
 
Microsoft Office on the Office Server
ITSS currently offers several versions of MS Office products on our Novell office server.
Telnet, FTP and Security Changes
As a security enhancement ITSS will be removing the unsecure methods of attaching to bulldog, pubinfo, webapps and ub from the Internet.
New Long Distance Service
ITSS is nearing completion of its project to convert to new long distance services.
Email Forwarding
Email has recently been adopted as the official notification system by the University of Minnesota Duluth. This has led to some recommended changes concerning email forwarding, which have resulted in some actions by ITSS.
Macintosh OSX vs. OS9 - Which to Use?
About a year ago, Apple introduced their new OSX (pronounced "Oh Es Ten") operating system for the Macintosh. Although on the surface OSX looks quite a bit like the previous Macintosh Operating systems, underneath it's completely different.
ITSS Rate Change
Network rates for 2002-2003 will be lower than those originally announced back in December.
