Installing Macintosh Software from the Novell Office Server

ITSS is in the process of converting to a new Novell Office Server. The current Office Server is not able to offer OSX software (and cannot be connected to from a Mac runnings OSX 10.4). Once departments are converted to the new server all versions of OSX will be able to connect and we will have the following applications available for OSX users:

• Microsoft Office 2004
• Adobe Photoshop CS2
• Adobe Photoshop Elements
• Adobe Indesign (compatible with Quark and PageMaker files)
• Dreamweaver MX 2004
• Flash MX 2004

All of these applications, except MS Office, will be "keyed" and require a live connection to the UMD network in order to run. This may make them less useful to laptop users.

We hope to complete the Office Server conversion during Fall semester, 2005.
