Answers:
- Because the link sent out in the e-mail was so long, it may have broken into two parts. Half of the link may be on a second line below the clickable part of the url. You may copy each half of the link and then paste it into your web browser, or simply click here to be redirected to the proper training site.
- There is no need to click on the login link. Instead, just fill out the boxes with your First Name, Last Name, E-mail Address, and Company Name and click the "Play Recorded Event" button. See our guide to using the Raindance online training.
- If the presentation isn't launching, Windows users may need to install Java. Firefox users may see a yellow bar with a button to install the missing plugin appear near the top of their browser window. If you are running Windows and using another browser such as Internet Explorer, you may manually download the free Java software from Java.com. You will need to run the installer and restart your computer before Java will work.
Mac users experiencing difficulty may want to try using Firefox as their web browser instead of using Safari.
- Make sure that your speakers are plugged into your computer and that your speakers are turned on. Most external speakers have a green power light that shines when they are receiving power. One can usually adjust the volume level on the speakers themselves, but you can also check to see that the volume on your computer is turned up by going to your Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices. If you don't have speakers, a limited number of headphones are available for checkout at the AV desk. For more information on borrowing headphones, please call extension 6222.
- The "No Video Available" box is a normal, albeit confusing part of the presentation. To get rid of it, click the grey button next to "Video (Not Available)" in the upper-right corner of the little blue and grey box. The presentation itself consists of still slides accompanied by an audio track.
- If you are accessing the new system for the first time, you will be told that your default password is 12 plus your 4 digit extension. Your 4 digit extension is the end of your telephone number (726-XXXX) not your current voicemail security code. If you are told your password is incorrect, make sure that you are entering 12 plus your extension.
If your voice mailbox is not the same as primary number on the telephone that you use, it is possible that you don't have a mailbox on the new system yet. If you believe this might be the case, please call x8847 to report the problem.
- The PowerPoint presentations are available for download on the Raindance site under the stored documents section. ITSS has also made the PowerPoint available for download.
- Here is a list of voicemail commands that we find especially handy.
